lizadurkin asked: Hi! I just listened to your interview with Sean Croxton on Underground Wellness Radio, thank you for the great information. Just recently, I started taking Natural Vitality's "Natural Calm - Anti-Stress Drink" and I'd like your opinion on the product. Is worth taking? Or should I find a different way to supplement magnesium? Thanks! -Liza

Calm is a great product and I use it occasionally as it provides a nice “pick me up!” Most clients that I work with, however, have substantial Mg deficiency issues (i.e. migraines, prediabetes, heart disease, hormonal dysregulation, etc.). Not knowing your specific situation, I don’t know your level of stress (both perceived and real) and what impact it is having on your Mg status. Yes, stress eats Mg for lunch. And in the cases I’ve noted above, the key is to get to “therapeutic dose” which is generally 2X the RDA or ~750mg of Mg for a woman. I have found it is difficult to take that level of MgCitrate without having an impact on my bowels or those of my clients. If you think you would benefit from a higher dose of Mg, I would recommend a MgMalate or MgGlycinate which will deliver the dose, but not the distress. Hope that helps and best of luck on your healing…
